In the Box

Before setting up your new router, please take the time to familiarise yourself with the contents of the box and ensure that all necessary parts are included. If you find that any parts are missing, please get in touch at 03330 040341. Please also note that in most instances the DSL filter provided will not be required due to the provision of an MK4 socket. See the Which Master Socket Do I Need? page for more information.

Router Setup

The DGA0122 is a dual band broadband gateway that supports Wi-Fi 4 (11n) on 2.4GHz and Wi-Fi 5 (11ac) on 5GHz. The DGA0122 supports Wi-Fi EasyMesh. This feature allows the addition of a compatible Wi-Fi EasyMesh Extender such as the Technicolor OWA0131.

About Passwords

There are three passwords that are used with your Broadband service and your DGA0122 gateway. These are described below.

Broadband (PPP) Username/Password

If your service provider does not support automatic configuration of your DGA0122 these details will be provided ro you separately. During first installation, the DGA0122 will prompt you to enter these (PPP) details.

Gateway Admin Password

To access the advanced features of your DGA0122, login to the admin pages at http://192.168.1.1. The unique password (or Access Key) can be found on the enclosed card and on the label of the DGA0122. The DGA0122 will prompt you to change this default password to something you can easily remember. Note that for security we recommend using a strong password containing both upper-case and lower-case letters, numbers and special symbols. Your password should ideally be 12 characters or more.

Wireless Password

If you are connecting using a wireless device, you can connect either using WPS pairing or by manual configuration using the wireless password. The default wireless password is 16 characters. If you decide to change this password, we recommend a strong password of at least 16 characters.

Note: sharing this password with others will allow them to access your network.

Initial Configuration Information:

The Technicolor will be posted to you in a default state. It will have a random Wi-Fi name as set on the base of the router. In most cases, once your service is live and the Technicolor has logged in for the first time, it will be configured in the correct way for your service – the plastic card on the router will also describe your specific configuration and how it needs to be connected.

The details above describe the most common configuration for this router, where you are simply connecting the Technicolor router to your phone line and using its built in WiFi and network ports for your internet access.
