One dripping tap can use 5,500 litres of water every year! Regardless of the size of your business, improving water efficiency can make a massive difference to both your annual water and energy bills. This is something our customers benefit from when taking up our comprehensive water efficiency service - an EcoMOT.

With that in mind, Let's take a look at how we've helped one of our current customers, Resolv Property Management

Client: Resolv Property Management

Summary

We engaged with Resolv to identify potential savings on bills, energy and CO2. While on site, our technician installed a number of retrofit products that would immediately reduce water consumption across a number of assets. These interventions were successful in delivering an instant and tangible reduction in water usage. Additionally, we found scope for further savings through further upgrades in the future.

The interventions made on the day

Across the assets upgraded, we achieved:

3%

reduction in water consumption

2%

reduction in water bill

0.82

tonne reduction per year CO2

Annual savings already achieved:

Water Bill£3,245
Water125,560Litres
Heating Bill£43.48
Carbon0.82equivalent CO2  tonnes

Recommended upgrades

In addition to these immediate savings, we identified a number of further upgrades that have the potential to tackle issues such as inefficient flow rate and overconsumption across showers, taps, urinals and toilets.

Proposed solutions in the form of flow restrictors on taps, water-saving cisterns, urinal water management systems and water-saving shower heads were estimated to offer further savings in the region of £3,493 in water bill savings – equating to more than 1.3 million litres of water each year. Similarly energy savings were identified worth over £800 per year and 1.4 tonnes of CO2.

Investing in the recommended upgrades equates to savings of:

Water Bills£3,493
Water1,350,865Litres
Heating Bills£801
Carbon1.4equivalent CO2  tonnes

The upfront installation cost of £2,790 was calculated to generate a return on investment in just 10 months.

Note: figures have been estimated using the flow rates of the pre-existing water using fixtures and fittings and the average flows or volumes of water used by the devices fitted during our visits, in line with the settings used at the time. Actual savings may vary depending on changes to usage, settings, footfall and leaks.
