More about meters: how we use reads
A great way to help ensure your billing is as accurate as possible from the outset is to submit a read. This can be done within the 5 days leading up to your switch date.

Are you on fixed charges? (i.e. your site does not have a meter)
If your site has fixed charges for water, wastewater, surface or highways drainage they are also billed in advance and calculated by dividing the total annual charge by the number of days in the billing period.
Advance billing & how it works
We bill in advance as standard. This means your first bill, which you will typically receive four days after your switch date, will cover a two-month period to catch you up with our billing schedule. Unless agreed otherwise.
Advance payment arrangements can provide customers with a useful way to manage their bills and customers may benefit from improved terms if they pay in advance. However, advance payment customers should be aware that any credit accrued for services that have not yet been delivered might not be recoverable in the unlikely event that their retailer becomes insolvent. There are a number of payment arrangements available in the market. Customers can therefore explore what type of available payment arrangement best meets their needs.
Each following bill will cover a one-month period. Payments will be taken via direct debit unless agreed otherwise, and your contract will automatically roll unless agreed otherwise.
